Traditional Gassho-zukuri Homes
Shirakawa-go is famous for its traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses. Gassho-zukuri means “ constructed like hands in prayer”, as the houses resemble palms placed together and fingers pointing upward in prayer. It is designated as World Heritage sites by UNESCO World Heritage site in 1995. You can look around inside some houses and stay at Gassho style houses. Shirakawa-go is good combination with peripheral natural scenery in all seasons. You can enjoy seasonal scenery!!
