Nakajima Park is a city park in Sapporo that includes the Sapporo Concert Hall, Sapporo Astronomical Observatory, Nakajima Sports Center, Puppet Theatre, Children's Hall, Hokkaido Museum of Literature, a Japanese Garden, tea house, lake pond, traditional wedding venue (Hoheikan), and shrines. The park also contains some sporting grounds for athletes to enjoy between April and November, in addition to boating in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter. The park was actually listed in the 100 Most Popular Urban Parks in Japan
thanks to the unique atmosphere and features. The park has around 5,000 trees, including yew, gingko, mountain cherry, black acacia, Japanese Red spruce and Elm, and flowers such as Japanese wisteria and roses.
