Teddy Bear Museum in Izu, Shizuoka is an adorable museum exhibiting a great collection of teddy bears from around the world. The museum has an Old English feel and takes you back to learn about the history and culture of teddy bears. The famous Teddy Girl, a 1904 teddy bear auctioned for 18 million yen, also resides at Izu Teddy Bear Museum among other great teddy bears.
The museum is not just about teddy bears though, having incorporated works of Studio Ghibli into the museum. One of the highlights of the museum is the famous Cat Bus from My Neighbor Totoro. Here at Teddy Bear Museum even adults can hop onto the Cat Bus and take pictures on our favorite childhood bus.
Teddy Bear Museum also has a shop where you can purchase your favorite teddy bear plush to take home with you. The shop has all kinds of other teddy bear goods such as stationery, bags, household goods, and much more. Teddy's Room, a tea garden, is a great place to rest after a great to the museum. The cafe offers various kinds of cakes, desserts, teas, and more. The cafe latte even comes with a teddy bear latte art.
