As of January 23rd, the Japan Meteorological Corporation has announced Japan 2020’s second Cherry Blossom Forecast! The coming cherry blossom season looks to be a bit earlier in Tokyo this year, while most of the cherry tree blossoming will occur towards the end of March, making the first week of April the pinnacle week for hanami (Cherry Blossom Viewing).
Please refer to our chart which has the expected blossoming dates for each major city, along with estimates as to when the best time to see the cherry blossoms will be. Please keep in consideration that cherry blossom season is very fickle, and depending on the weather and temperature, the dates could be pushed forward or back. Japan Deluxe Tours will attempt to continually update our cherry blossom forecast page to provide tour participants and travelers with the most accurate predictions.
