As of January 19th, the Japan Meteorological Corporation has announced 2018’s first Cherry Blossom Forecast! While the year has been relatively warm, the forecast predicts an early season, with most of the cherry tree blossoming will occur towards the end of March, making the first week of April the pinnacle week for hanami (Cherry Blossom Viewing).
Please refer to our chart which has the expected blossoming dates for each major city, along with estimates as to when the best time to see the cherry blossoms will be. Please keep in consideration that cherry blossom season is very fickle, and depending on the weather and temperature, the dates could be pushed forward or back. We will attempt to continually update our forecast page to provide you with the most accurate predictions.
