Hangiri - Taraibune

Taraibune cruising is a famous activity in Sadogashima. Using a tub as a boat, you can cruise the Japan sea. The tub is made from cedar and bamboo and has water-resistant properties. The boat can holds up to 500 kg (about 1102 pound). Of course, you can steer the small but stable boat as well. It is said that the tarai boat has been used since the Edo period (1800s). It is not only for sightseeing, but also for fishing.
