Tomita Farm

Arguably one of the most popular flower farms on Instagram, Farm Tomita is one of Hokkaido's premier flower farms. Considered one of the best places to view the lavender of Hokkaido, Farm Tomita draws in numerous tourists to view their stunning flower fields with the Tokachi mountain range in the horizon. Originally a simple lavender farm, today the farm has expanded to include a number of large fields of various flower types, including Poppies, French Marigolds, and many more.

The most famous image of the farm is the breathtaking ”Rainbow Field” (image to the right), created by planting rows of different flowers along the rolling hills. The image is unforgettable and draws visitors yearly to come take photographs of the field. The image is so popular, it was featured in the nation wide Japan Rail calendar, further raising the lavender farm's popularity.

The farm is free to enter and offers a range of lavender products for sale and a cafe where guests can enjoy the fields with a relaxing cup of tea or coffee. In 2008, Farm Tomita expanded their lavender farm with the second farm, Lavender East. Covering 14 hectares, this is the largest lavender field in all of Furano and includes an observation deck, cafe, shop, and rides through the lavender fields.
