Hakutsuru was founded in 1743 and has come to establish its present "sake" brewing techniques by maintaining the tradition of "sake" making while at the same time applying the new techniques to meet the needs of people and trends of drinking. The museum exhibits actual process and history of making sake, and you can enjoy tasting sake.
The brewery's long history has led to many special flavors and brews, including the Hakutsuru Premium Sake Junmai Dai Ginjo "SHO-UNE", Hakutsuru Superipr Sake "Junmai Ginjo", and the Hakutsuru Excellent Sake "Tanrei Junmai". Many of the brewery's sake are available to sample and can be purchased at the museum store. Any sake fan with free time in Kyoto should consider adding Hakutsuru Sake Brewery to their Japan tour package!
