Kizakura Sake Brewery, located in Kyoto, is a brewery that handles various types of Japanese sake. In addition to sake, Kizakura Sake Brewery also makes beer with the same yeast they use for their sake, for a truly unique flavor. Not only does the brewery use the same yeast for their beers and sake, the brewery uses the water from Fushimi, which is said to have a slight sourness and deep richness to it's flavors. The methods used by Kizakura ensure a glass unlike any other brewery. Patrons of the brewery can also enjoy several factory tours including the Ginjo and Daiginjo Sake brewery tour and the Craft beer brewery tour to learn how Kizakura brews its sake and beer.
The brewery's store, Kizakura Kappa Country, has a wide assortment of sake, local beers, as well as cosmetics to take home. You can even enjoy a glass of beer from the barrel during your visit at the restaurant onsite. We recommend trying their
Yamada Nishiki Ale or their
KYOTO CLASSIC brews. Both are great examples of Kizakura's unique brewing methods.
For those who wish to enjoy Kizakura's fresh sake and beer outside of the brewery and factory, there are four restaurants in Kyoto that serve products of Kizakura Sake Brewery. Guests can enjoy sampling the perfect sake pairing with all their favorite flavors, or just try a few different beers and sake with appetizers.
Sake or beer enthusiasts who want to learn more about the history and process of sake and beer brewing are encouraged to join one of our tours in Kyoto during our Spring Cherry Blossom Tours or Highlights Japan tour packages available on our website!
