Shaolin Temple Fist Method | Shorinji Kempo

Shorinji Kempo was established in 1947 by Doshin So that splits the focus between self-defense training, mental training, and health training. The art focuses on the unity of the spirit and body (心身一如: shinshin-ichinyo), believing they should be trained and act as one (拳禅一如: kenzen ichinyo). The training is split between two focuses: physical training and educational training. Shorinji Kempo translates as Shaolin Temple Fist Method and is considered a modified version of Shaolin Kung Fu. Split between soft and hard techniques, this martial art is meant to keep the mind and body well.
