Universal Studios Japan (USJ) in Osaka was opened in 2001 and was the first Universal Studios park built in Asia. At the time of the opening, the amusement park was considered the fastest growing park, reaching 10 million guests in the shortest amount of time. Outside the park is Universal Citywalk Osaka, a street of shops and restaurants. The Citywalk also has a Takoyaki museum at which different vendors have gathered to present their best takoyaki dishes, a popular local dish in Osaka.
USJ has 8 sections: Hollywood, New York, San Francisco, Jurassic Park, Waterworld, Amity Village, Universal Wonderland and its newest addition, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. USJ is also popular for its beautiful Christmas shows and illuminations.
