Today, we kick our Cherry Blossom Anime tour off by heading to the Electronic Town of Akihabara. Before we head to the main shopping area, we will take a brief walk to the anime-famous Kanda Shrine. Famously featured in anime such as Love Live! and collaborating with hit anime & manga like My Hero Academia, Kanda Shrine is the only shrine to offer good luck charms for electronics and anime characters.

We make our way back to the main street where you can enjoy shopping at some of the most popular otaku destinations, including Animate. Animate carries all kinds of character goods, electronics, and games from current and popular anime/manga series. There's plenty of free time in Akihabara, so Japan Deluxe Tours recommends exploring Super Potato for vintage games, SEGA arcade, visit a Maid Cafe, or just explore the area.

After exploring Akihabara, we will visit the anime specialized shopping complex: Nakano Broadway. Explore the many stores dedicated to anime and otaku goods or try the eight-layer ice-cream they serve downstairs!

We then head east to visit the famed Ghibli Museum. This animation and art museum exhibits the works of Miyazaki Hayao, creator of world renown animated films such as My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea. Ghibli Studio fans will certainly enjoy the artistic museum, which not only exhibits the history and techniques of animation but also plays short movies in a theater room, produced exclusively for the museum.

We close out the day by spending some time at Shibuya Parco. It has the latest anime spot called Cyberspace Shibuya which has become a popular spot in recent years. You can find the very first Nintendo shop, Nintendo Tokyo, the stylish Pokemon Center Shibuya, Capcom store, Jump shop and much more.

Our day's expedition revolves around the exploration of Hiroshima, marking the initiation of the Cherry Blossom tour. We commence by visiting the Atomic Bomb Dome, the solitary structure that endured the aftermath of the Atomic Bombing in Hiroshima. Nestled within the precincts of the Peace Memorial Park, an area once ground zero for the atomic bomb, the Atomic Bomb Dome stands as a poignant testament to the tragedy's impact. As you traverse the park, significant landmarks like the moving Sadako's statue and the resonating freedom bell beckon your attention. The Atomic Bomb Dome, preserved as a beacon of hope for enduring peace, imparts its message to the generations to come.

Immersed in the Peace Memorial Park, don't miss the opportunity to explore the illustrious Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum. This institution houses an array of artifacts and historical documentation from the bombing, serving as a poignant reminder of Hiroshima's unwavering commitment to global harmony.

In the afternoon, our journey leads us to Miyajima, an enchanting island located to the south of Hiroshima. Distinguished for the captivating Itsukushima Shrine and its ethereal floating torii gate, Miyajima presents a sight that captures the heart. With the rising tide, the torii gate appears to float on the water's surface, creating a visual spectacle that has earned its place among Japan's three most exquisite views. Amidst this breathtaking setting, relish the island's offerings, including the delightful momiji manju (maple leaf-shaped cake with red beans) and the succulent oysters, ensuring that your time on the island remains etched in memory.

Today, our Takayama Cherry Blossom tour will have several stops before arriving in the city of Takayama. We’ll be following the Nakasendo Trail and enjoy a brief hike between Tsumago and Magome, the forty-second and forty-third stations of the trail respectively. The two towns are well-preserved and even go as far as making sure that electrical wires, TV antennas, and telephone poles do not show, allowing visitors to experience what it was like walking through town during the Edo Period. Enjoy some wagashi Japanese sweets and relax with a cup of tea before we make our way to Takayama.

Our Japan tour will finally reach Takayama. After checking into the hotel, we will follow the sound of drums to make it just in time to witness the festival in full swing. Takayama Festival is considered to be one of the best festivals in Japan. Their huge floats will light up the night’s sky with many arrays of color paper lanterns.
