I had a great time in this tour! Firstly,, the customer support for this tour was amazing and every single little question was answered in great timing. During the tour, out tour guide Hide-san was wonderful! He knew English very well and was great to travel around the different tour locations with him! The different activities, cities, and places we visited everyday were amazing! As this was a tour, I expected for some days we wouldn't have so much time to explore every area or stay longer, but it provided a great deal of notes for when I wish to travel or return to Japan again for either another tour or by myself. The activities we did were fun and great! My favorite so far has been the Rickshaw ride in Kyoto, making Sushi in Tokyo, and visiting Akihabara as well! The only few locations I would say I had the least excitement, but great nonetheless was the Ghibli Park (as we didn't have an express pass and the attractions were far apart), the Samurai Museum (there was little room for a big tour group), and too much time at Anime Japan (but this is more personal reason, the event was different then the oens I am used to). The Liber Hotel we stayed in Osaka was wonderful, the one in Kyoto was a little different but good, but the Grand Fresa at Tokyo was a little ok. The location was great for convenience and travel, but the hotel itself was a little old for staying there half the tour. Overall, this tour was an amazing experience! I would recommend it for anyone who is going to Japan for the first time or alone (this tour is a great option for going to Japan alone for the first time). I had a blast! This trip was awesome! Not too big a group (17 people), and it was great to get to know and hang out with everyone. Japan Deluxe Tours made everything super easy. They sent a link to an app that contained all of the documents we needed and a daily itinerary. My wife and I added a couple days in Hiroshima to the beginning of our trip, and it was simple to communicate with Japan Deluxe Tours to get it coordinated. They were easily accessible by email, helped ensure that we had everything we needed to get to Japan, and responded quickly to all inquiries. Our days were packed full, and it felt like we got a wonderful range of Japanese experiences. Our guide Hide was polite, helpful, incredibly knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions. I had such a wonderful trip! Beautiful temples, delicious food everywhere and adorable snow monkeys! Tour guides Hana and Miho made the trip extra special. We always go for touring agencies, and when we found Japan Deluxe Tours we knew that we had stumbled across another gem. This was a wonderful experience, with a compassionate and well organized tour guide, two exceptional buss drivers and a bevy of experiences to take with us. This is comparable to a Rick Steeves Tour, it is *that good*. Huge shout-out to Kana, our tour guide! She was amazing, knowledgeable, kind and funny - she really kept this troupe of Americans in line! The experience would not have been the same without her. She took our photos, arranged for us to get a custom hand-made kitchen knife, translated for us when necessary and even got us out of a pinch when my husband and I took a wrong turn in Kyoto. After looking around at touring options, we stumbled upon the "Highlights of Japan | Anime tour" and really liked the idea of seeing places of culture that we were not too certain how or when was appropriate to visit. This tour was extraordinary and our guide truly made us feel welcomed and informed about all things Japan. Yes, we did have limited time to explore some areas, but in no world would we have been able to truly embrace the culture of Japan and experience the amount of areas Japan has to offer in the timeframe we were working with. I highly recommend this tour, if not for the ease of getting around, then the informative view of historical and culturally important areas, in which allowed us to be able to have such a wonderful experience.

So this is the second time I’ve used this Tour agency and just like the last time they were amazing! Our tour guide Yuki was amazing knowledgeable and caring. He really took care of everyone and made sure that everyone had a good time. He went above and beyond to make sure that our experience was a good one and it was. The places that we went were beautiful (especially when we had good weather) and Yuki gave us enough time to explore. My family and I just enjoyed the Highlights of Japan | Anime Hiroshima 11 day tour with Japan Deluxe Tours at the end of July 2024. We added the Suo Island tour at the end of our Highlights tour as we have interest in the Japanese Emigration from Japan to Hawaii, and last, we did an additional 2 days at the end to roam on our own. This trip was so special to my family and I. We had the best time. Yuki from the Torrance office was so helpful in answering our numerous questions and then, getting our planning completed with extra help to add on the Suo Island and booking extra hotel for our 2 extra days at the end. Yuki was most helpful and she was so kind. Top notch service. When we arrived in Japan, our tour guide was also Yuki (not same Yuki) but just as top notch fabulous! He was so friendly, provided tons of very interesting information about every highlight we visited, and was so pleasant to travel with. He really felt like family by the end our 11 days with him. Yuki has the best personality, was super welcoming, very informative, and knew when to pull back on talking versus bombarding us the whole time with information. His information was very timely, and when we had additional questions, Yuki always had the answer. He even helped us plan and navigate our free day in Tokyo by reviewing the subway routes we mapped out. He offered alternative routes and gave us tips on how to navigate around the city. Both Yukis at Japan Deluxe Tours are gems, true above and beyond, and we thoroughly enjoyed and appreciate everything they helped us with. For the add-on tour to Suo Island, Mamiko was fabulous too! She provided a private tour for us and gave us so much rich history about Suo Island, was so helpful in researching our family and found their names in the registries! We enjoyed our time with Mamiko (though only 1 day), she treated us like family too! We shared a fabulous lunch with her and she even showed us what a traditional Japanese house looks like! She ensured that we were all checked in at the airport before leaving us as she cared so much that we made it back to Tokyo for our last 2 days of personal adventure. Japan Deluxe Tours far exceeded our expectations. All hotels were lovely, breakfasts was superb, the tour buses were roomy, comfortable, and always close by, and the entire itinerary was exactly what we had hoped for for our first time visit to Japan. My family and I (2 adults, 2 senior citizens, 11 year old, 13 year old) took the Golden Route of Japan-Anime 9 day tour and it was an amazing experience. On this tour, we got the best of both worlds because we were able to experience and learn about Japan's culture, while being immersed in the anime scene while in Tokyo. I did a lot of research before booking this tour and the communication before the tour was superb! The office answered the many questions I had and kept in contact with me, informed me of any changes to the tour, reached out to me when files were uploaded to my account etc, putting me at ease and letting me know that I made the right choice by booking with them. Our guide, Taku, was truly amazing! He went above and beyond to make sure our group was having a wonderful time and comfortable in the extremely hot weather. He answered questions members of the group of 11 had, provided us with places and restaurants to go during down time and offered to take us to a few places during his free time, if we wanted to go. During our tour, there were some places where there were steps and hills and he knew my aunt had difficulty walking up steps and hills. He would always let us know beforehand if specific places on the itinerary that day had steps/hills and provided us with alternatives, if any, to make her comfortable. That meant a lot to us. The tour itself was great and jammed packed because there is a lot to do in Japan. Even though we did a lot in one day, we never felt rushed. We would visit places together as a group, but we were always given time to explore on our own, which we truly enjoyed. From Kyoto to Tokyo, we went to places, some off the beaten path, that we would not have done on our own. Taku provided us with so much information en route to and at each destination. Taku is truly knowledgeable about Japan and made our tour a fantastic one! The hotels were also very nice and conveniently located to public transportation, stores and various places to eat. If you're thinking about booking this tour, you should. My family and I are happy we did and I highly recommend Japan Deluxe Tours. Thank you for helping me make my family's dreams come true.

We did the Anime Pioneer Adventure & Tokyo Ⅱ Tour.(5 days 4 nights). Overall it was a great experience from start to finish. Japan Deluxe Tours (JDT) practically handled everything (we opted to book our own air flight) From the hotel stay; to the transfers from and back to the airport; and the actual tour itself, everything was planned out for us which I really liked. It was so easy. Prior to the trip whenever I had questions or concerns; the team at JDT would answer them all in a timely manner. My overall experience with JDT was a very pleasant and positive one. As for the tour itself, we had an awesome time. We got to see a lot of things and we went to a lot of places. One of the highlights was visiting the Ghibli museum. Our tour guide Yuki was very friendly and knowledgeable about the places we visited. If we had questions he would be right there to answer them. Our bus driver Shin was very skilled at driving us around to all the places we visited. The daily tour itself lasted from 9 in the morning to around 6 at night which left us plenty of free time in the evening if we wanted to do anything else on our own. We visited Tokyo Skytree on day 2; great night view of the city. One minor gripe I did have was that on our day 3, I wish that we spent less time at Takeshita Street and more time in Akihabara; only because the places I wanted to visit in Akihabara were spaced so far apart from each other that I couldn’t visited them all in the time we had allotted to us for that area. Other than that the whole tour was great! Another thing that I liked and thought was really convenient was that the Kinshicho station was literally a 5 minute walk from our hotel. It made it very easy for us to travel to the different areas of Tokyo during our free time and during our day 4 free day. Overall, my experience with Japan Deluxe Tours was great. They were very efficient with all the planning and detailing of our trip. I liked that everything was taken care of for us. The tour was fun and entertaining. The overall vibe of the country was very welcoming to foreigners. The culture was amazing. If you’re a fan of anime and interested in visiting Tokyo, but are limited in the amount of days you’re able to take off from work; I would recommend this tour.

Our family absolutely loved our trip to Japan with Japan Deluxe Tours. We saw most of the major tourist highlights of Japan, and so much more. Our guide Hide-san was a joy. He helped us learn some important language and culture while we were on the bus, so we could interact politely and have more fun when we were on our own. Some days are a whirlwind, zooming from place to place, but we loved every minute. Be prepared to walk 3-5 miles some days, and our last day in Tokyo (free day) we walked 12 miles! (I think young kids might struggle with the pace of this tour) After the planned parts of the tour, you have the evening free to explore on your own. Our guide would suggest great places to eat or see in our free time. The hotels were very nice, and the breakfasts were gigantic. Go all in on the Japanese breakfast - it is worth it. We saw a good variety of cities and the mountains - and even saw Mt. Fuji! One great surprise about this trip was how much amazing art we saw. The Hakone Open Air Museum and Teamlab were two of the most memorable places we visited - gorgeous and moving for art lovers. And the Gibli Museum also touched our hearts. We loved having 4 days in Tokyo, with the last day as a free day. Ask your guide for help with the subway in Tokyo - there are multiple lines, with different tickets. You will get plenty of chances to scratch the anime/manga itch in Tokyo. Our guide took us to the best shops and areas to get things you can't buy in the U.S. By the second day of the trip we started making a list of things to do when we come back to Japan, we loved it that much!

This was a great tour. Our guide Yuki, was fantastic, and we enjoyed the most of the locations and the excursions. The hotels were wonderful as well. The only issues were some of the excursions were rushed, and the Dotonbori was mostly closed when we were there. It might be better to start the tour later in the day to be able to experience the culture more. All in all, we felt like we got a LOT for what we paid and would absolutely book with Japan Deluxe Tours in the future!

My husband chose this trip and I was expecting to not like at least half of it but I LOVED it. I hate sushi and tea but the tea ceremony and sushi making were phenomenal. The rickshaw ride was even better. Miho (our tour guide) was the absolute BEST. Super sweet, took photos of us, would go off to random places with us so we wouldn’t get lost, kept us on a good schedule which at times felt rushed but at end of day we were very grateful for how much we were able to do. The hot springs in the hotels were a great experience and the hotels overall were nice. Teamlabs was 10/10. The game experience, all the shopping centers, temples and shrines were so cool! Even got to pet some deers that literally bow at you! Learned a lot from Mijo and our experiences. Best trip I’ve been on

The Grand Tour was absolutely amazing, we visited some beautiful places in Japan. It was very busy and we had some very long days, but felt it was worth it for what we saw. I chose this tour because it included the Takayama Festival and was shorter. In 8 nights, we covered a lot of highlights of Japan, including the Festival, Mt. Fuji, Matsumoto Castle, Shirakawago, amazing art museums, as well as Tokyo and Kyoto. The matcha tea ceremony, sushi making, and maiko experience were fun and authentic. I was impressed with how much we did in such a short time. While it meant some very long days, we were driven on an A/C bus. The hotels were great, and the breakfasts were extensive, including Japanese and Western dishes. Miho was patient, generous with information, and helpful (especially when I left my cellphone in a bathroom!) Unfortunately, because of the earthquake, Kanazawa was taken off our tour, which meant we were not able to experience a ryokan or authentic hotsprings. We were booked into 2 hotels with public baths instead. I would highly recommend this tour with Miho as a guide. Everything was looked after.

Have been traveling on my own for a while now but decided to spend 8 nights of my 14 nights in Japan on a guided bus tour. It turned out to be an outstanding decision. With Miho as our experienced, knowledgeable, always professional but warm and approachable tour director and 24 other friendly and enthusiastic travelers in a very comfortable bus, everyday and every destination turned out to be a great adventure. I enjoyed the Takayama festival and spending the following morning exploring and photographing the charming and quaint old town and finding some worthwhile Japanese products to take home. Spending time in two villages on the Nakasendo trail was another highlight for me. The sushi making experience was a lot of fun. Although it felt rushed and hectic some times, overall, the itinerary worked really well for me. Thank you again, Miho, for all your good work in making this tour meaningful and memorable for me.. Our guide Miho was fantastic, and the bus driver for the week was wonderful. We were shown around many places in Tokyo and Kyoto. The hotels were in good locations for getting on a train to get around. The traditional inn didn't seem very traditional but was still very nice. Some of the days for the anime tour in Tokyo had a lot of shopping stops which weren't that fun.

Excellent all-around from the many sites to especially our guides Miho and Yuki!! They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable going above and beyond the service of a normal tour guide. They truly made it very fun and tried to give us a once in a lifetime experience. I would definitely recommend this tour although now I’m thinking it may have been too short, I wish I would’ve sprung for the 15 day tour rather then 11!!!! Just so much to see and didn’t want to go. Will definitely come back and visit Japan again though for sure!

Our Japan tour with Japan Deluxe tours was amazing! Our guide Kanako made everything go smoothly and she was always very patient with all of us. She made visual aids for her explanations of where we were going and then quizzed us on what we visited which was great because then you can actually remember where you'd been. Our tour group was fantastic! A very diverse group in ages and nationalities but it felt like our little tour family! We miss them all already!
