Tochigi Magnificent Waterfall

Kegon Waterfall is one of the largest waterfalls in Japan, measuring about 96.3m in height. It falls down a precipice consisting of quarts rock and lava. The precipice was formed by the eruption of Mt. Nantai, thus creating Lake Chuzenji. Generally, the waterfall runs full from June to September, and stops between December and April, though there is a device to draw water to the fall through an underground pipe. The view of the frozen waterfall in winter is also magnificent.
