In 2008, we decided to take a trip to Japan with my mother. I traveled with my wife, sister, and mother on the Japan Deluxe Tour Package. (*note: the package has changed a little since we went, but it looks to me like it's gotten even better!)
The service from Japan Deluxe Tours is exceptional. My wife worked with the staff to assure she had all our questions answered. We stayed a week longer in Japan after our tour was over and their staff help us understand exactly what we had to do to assure we had all the times set properly for our transportation by train and by air after our guided tour was over.
Our tour guide was phenomenal. She was easy to understand and very informative throughout the trip. The food was excellent (the four of us being of Japanese ancestry felt we were served excellent quality foods throughout). Some of the others were craving "meat and potatoes" by the end of the tour, but that's just natural if your not raised on white rice and fish.
Our trip was memorable from beginning to end because our guide always kept us "in the light" of what was going on. If you want to take a guided tour to Japan, I highly recommend Japan Deluxe Tours.
