Day 2
Before our big day at the International Anime Fair - AnimeJapan tomorrow, our Anime tour will visit some of the best anime sites Tokyo has to offer. We begin with a trip to the anime-famous Kanda Shrine. Featured in many popular anime such as Love Live! and collaborating with hit anime & manga like My Hero Academia, Kanda Shrine is the only shrine to offer good luck charms for electronics and anime characters. After a brief time snapping photos of your vacation at the Anime shrine, we will head to Akihabara, the town of anime. While touring Akihabara, enjoy shopping at some of the most popular otaku destinations including Animate or the Akihabara Culture Zone. Animate carries all kinds of character goods, electronics, and games from current and popular anime/manga series. There's plenty of free time in Akihabara, so Japan Deluxe Tours recommends exploring Super Potato for vintage games, SEGA arcade, visit a Maid Cafe, or just explore the city during your Anime Japan Tour. Your anime tour will also return to Akihabara later this week for more anime shopping and otaku culture.

After our adventures in Akihabara, our anime tour is off to Tokyo SkyTree to visit the Pokemon Center & Jump Shop. These two shops are can't miss destinations for Anime shopping in Tokyo, and the stores in Tokyo SkyTree are considered some of the best among all locations. Browse through great stores including the Jump Shop, a dedicated store to Jump anime and manga. There's also plenty of shopping to be done for souvenirs at SkyTree, or feel free to ride to the top of the tower for epic views of Tokyo (additional fees may apply).

Once we finish with our shopping at SkyTree, we head east of Tokyo to tour the world-famous Ghibli Museum. This animation and art museum exhibits the works of Miyazaki Hayao, creator of world famous films such as My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea. Ghibli Film fans will definitely enjoy the artistic museum, which not only exhibits the history and techniques of animation, but also plays short movies in a theater room produced exclusively for the museum. We then return to the hotel.
Day 3
Today’s the big day of the International Anime Fair - AnimeJapan! Join the many cosplayers, otaku, and anime lovers of all degrees in the biggest Anime event in the world. Anime, manga, doujinshi, guest speakers, figurines, rare items, video games, limited and exclusive covers are all accessible at this large event. Enjoy your day exploring the grounds and meeting people with the same passion as you!

If the fair isn't enough, you also have the option to join an optional tour at 3pm to explore the famous Shibuya Crossing & Hachiko Statue! This crosswalk gathers as much foot traffic as New York City, and crossing is an experience unlike any other. While here, our Tokyo tour will also visit the popular Hachiko Statue close to the station. The statue is based on the internationally-known story of Hachiko, the dog who would come back to the station every day to see his owner. This Tokyo spot is a popular meet-up area for couples and friends when visiting Shibuya Station. Anime fans have probably seen this famous statue and crosswalk in some of their favorite anime & manga works like Persona5 or Tokyo Ghoul. After making our way through the crossing with your tour guide, we will then return to the hotel.
Day 4
Starting things off for our anime tour, our group will first head to Odaiba to see the massive 72 foot Unicorn Gundam! This life-sized mobile suit stands watch over Tokyo's bay and is a must for any anime fan. After our brief photo stop, our anime tour will travel to the lively Tokyo Character Street in Tokyo Central Station. The shopping arcade is lined with various anime-themed shops, including a special edition Pokemon Center, Jump Shop, Ghibli Store, Hello Kitty & Sanrio store, and other anime & manga themed stores! Character street is also home to Tokyo Ramen Street, Okashi Land, and Gachapon Street, perfect for someone who wants some lunch and to do a little more gift shopping for friends or for themselves! We recommend trying Tokyo Ramen Street for lunch, or explore the station and try great choices like Ikinari Steak, McDonalds, or other familiar options.

After our adventures at Character Street, guests can choose between going to Tokyo Tower, or head straight to Akihabara for more anime travels. Tokyo Tower, one of the city's most prominent landmarks, has been over by One Piece, resulting in Tokyo One Piece Tower. Known as Tongari Island, this event is filled with attractions, wonderful restaurants, and a live-action show designed to wow fans of all ages. Enjoy games based on all your favorite Straw Hat Pirates and enjoy special hand-sketched exhibits from One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda himself.

Following our time at the tower, our anime tour will head back to Akihabara for more shopping and fun! Explore all the stores you missed, or go back and pick up that retro gaming console you weren't sure you wanted or not. Pop into a maid cafe to have a beautiful maid greet you and help you relax during your epic anime vacation. Once we finish up in Akihabara, our tour is off to the east to visit the anime specialized shopping complex: Nakano Broadway. Explore the many stores dedicated to anime and otaku goods or try the eight-layer ice-cream they serve downstairs. Before the day is over, it's off to the Robot Restaurant for dinner and a show. Enjoy thunderous music and crazy colors at a show unlike any other. Be sure to have your camera ready for the giant robots and dancing performers. We then return to the hotel.

Day 6
Our Japan tour is spent today exploring the beauty in the hot-springs town of Hakone. We begin our tour with a visit to Mt. Fuji's 5th Station to enjoy the beauty of the mountain. Take photos of the mountain's peak and instantly upload them to Instagram and Facebook for all your friends to see. We will also have plenty of chances to see Mt. Fuji during your tour while we explore Hakone*. Before making our way to the next destination, we will stop for Hoto, a Japanese noodle dish native to the Yamanashi area. A hybrid of miso soup and flat udon noodles, this dish is truly a local Japanese specialty

After our time in the village, enjoy a rope-way to Owakudani. Owakudani is an active volcanic crater still steaming from its last eruption some 3,000 years ago. There you will get a taste of the local Japanese food, the black egg, cooked in one of the craters. It's said eating one of these eggs will add years to your life!

This Japan tour would not be complete without a long relaxing soak in the onsen, hot spring, to rejuvenate you for tomorrow’s adventure. Yukata, a Japanese robe, will be provided for you. The onsen is located in our own ryokan, a Japanese style hotel, which includes a traditional Japanese meal known as Kaiseki Ryori!
*Note: This attraction may not be available due to time or weather conditions. If we cannot visit the 5th Station, we will visit the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center instead.

Day 7
Our cherry blossom anime tour begins with a bullet train ride to Kyoto. The bullet train is the fastest way to travel on land and is considered an essential way to experience Japanese culture. Enjoy riding to Kyoto in comfort and speed, and be sure to take some photos of the gorgeous scenery during your ride. Upon arriving in Kyoto, our anime tour will explore the stunning Fushimi Inari Shrine, one of Kyoto's many can't miss destinations that features hundreds of red tori gates. The path is perfect for photos or just to calm your mind.

Once we get all our photos done, our tour will stop at the Kyoto International Manga Museum to learn more about Japan's unique manga culture. Easily the largest collection of manga in the world, the museum boasts 300,000 materials of manga, including French, Chinese, and Korean works along with Japanese classics. After our time in the museum, your anime vacation heads to the traditionally preserved street of Ninenzaka. This rustic shopping street hasn't changed since the Edo Period, making it a perfect backdrop for vacation photos or to enjoy Japanese traditional architecture. Browse the many shops and stop by for yatsuhashi, dango, or tea before you make it to the top of this splendid shopping district. We then proceed to the hotel.

Day 8
Our anime tour begins the day off to Arashiyama to walk through the Bamboo Groove Forest. The morning's sunlight passing through the bamboo makes for a perfect morning sight. We will also enjoy a spirited rickshaw ride through Arashiyama. Guests can enjoy seeing many of the traditional-style shops and temples during the ride. Following our time in Arashiyama, we will head to the Golden Pavilion, or Kinkakuji Temple, a Japan’s must see attraction where the two upper floors are covered in gold leaf. The reflection of the golden temple on the lake adds to the stunning sight, and is a can't miss destination during your vacation.

Before our tour stops for lunch, we will spend some time shopping at Kyoto's Teramachi-Kyogoku. This shopping district is the place to go in Kyoto for anime, manga, and souvenir stores. Find exclusive Kyoto-themed anime goods while here, or visit the close by Nishiki Market for a snack. Don't fill up too much at the market, as your vacation includes a kaiten sushi lunch. Sometimes called sushi trains or conveyor belt sushi, kaiten sushi is a great way for tourists to pick and try their favorite rolls and nigiri sushi while giving new flavors a shot during their vacation. Most kaiten sushi restaurants also offer other options, like kaarage (Japanese fried chicken), edamame (Japanese green beans), and noodles! After our sushi lunch,

After we explore the shopping grounds of Teramachi-Kyogoku, it's off to Nara to see Todaiji Temple. Todaiji Temple holds the Guinness World Record as the largest wooden building. While Todaiji's size is impressive, the true treasure awaits inside. Resting peacefully in the beautiful Japanese temple is the largest Buddha statue in Japan. Snap photos of these record-holding attractions to share with friends back home via Instagram or Facebook, or head over next door to Nara Deer Park. Considered a must in Nara, the Deer Park is home to numerous deer that roam freely on the grounds. The internationally-known deer are rather friendly, and will bow to tourists for a treat. Just be careful not to get chased by the deer during your vacation. We then return to the hotel.
