We stayed 2 days before the tour to see Takayama. You may want to add more handicraft stores to the list of sights. I also suggest you ad themed places to eat and visit (Ninja Cafe) Tokyo has many more sights - utilize that. The tour was great and I would do Japan Deluxe Tours again. Our guide Hiroko really made the trip special.

Overall, it was an amazing experience thanks to Midori's knowledge and expertise. You could tell she was very enthusiastic and that helped to keep the mood of the group up too. We got to see so many places that we wouldn't have been able to see if we planned an entire trip on our own, with this being the first time we've been to Japan. We'd definitely love to come back and experience more!
The tour was nice, but it felt very rushed. There was very little time for shopping, looking around, or even taking pictures. It felt like a "go in, go out" kind of thing. It felt too rushed although I liked the locations we visited, I don't think I got to properly enjoy them. For example, if I hadn't gone to Harajuku before the tour on our free days, I don't think I would've had enough time there on just the tour.

Pre-stay and post-stay options are very good as it allows people to go to locations they are interested in.

Hiroko-the BEST GUIDE I've ever had in 20 years of travel! Takayama pre-tour - Shirakawago and Hida Folk Village are both necessary to see. The main tour was all city-life; going to Takayama gave me the countryside and the small town life. This was very important to me! I would have liked a little more free time at each spot. Also, people should add a day more in Tokyo for more free time there. The free time gives us a chance to explore.

It would be good to get a list of our tour group names. Air conditioning and wifi on the bus is a nice feature. Bus driver is excellent, great feeling of safety. Tour guide gave us assistance. Guide was jovial which is greatly appreciated.
We would like to thank Midori-san for such a great trip. She took great care of us, especially our grand-parents which means a lot to us. If we ever come back we will request her as our guide!
Overall I was very satisfied with the tour. Definitely felt I got my money's worth! Would freely recommend it!

This was amazing as my first time in Japan! I definitely want to come back and bring friends and family it was so much fun.
The entire tour was very good, we will have fond memories of our journey. Hiroko was very professional and went out of her way to make sure everyone was included. She was a good communicator.
The trip was much better than we had expected. Everything was in the best way, on time, and beatiful. Hide San is an excellente guy and better tour guide, taking care of us every moment, offering the best for us everywere we went. Very good hotel accomodation and tipical Japanesse meals.The Ryokan experiencie was unique! unforguetable, and so the cherry bloosom... At last we recommend this tour without doubt
If you advertise 9 days, do nine days. I had to make last minute plans in August, to find a hotel room because it ended a day early. I would recommend more time at Mount Fuji as I only got a short time and I wish I had more time.
I strongly suggest that this tour is advertised as being extremely strenuous. We had no idea how much walking/climbing there would be. It would good to fit in some more relaxation - Also, it would have been nice if the hotels used had swimming pools, as for western people, the onsen's are not relaxing places due to us not being comfortable naked in front of strangers.

This was my very first international trip, and I had the best time! The accommodations were wonderful, and the guides were great. I didn't feel lost or confused at all, and this has been a great experience as my first international trip, and first time in Japan. Thank you!
The tour was wonderful. A lot of walking the first two days! I wish I would have booked a night or two pre-stay to go to Tokyo Disney and Ghibli Museum if not under construction to spend more time at anime spots.

A little more free time to investigate areas after activities might be nice. Following a day of group tours, we've enjoyed family dinners in local restaurants and finding some shops and activities. Our son took the opportunity to ride the roller coaster at Tokyo Dome and we found a small sushi spot.

The entire tour was well organised. We were able to see a huge number of sights for a short amount of time.
The Japan Deluxe Tours experience was wonderful. Next time hope to visit in spring or Winter. Summer too hot!
Value for money = Okay Size of group = Excellent For first part (11 people), too big for anime part (23) Our guide spoke great English, answered all questions to her best ability, and gave us great insights to Japan

Need to make a bigger effort to have non-smoking buses. Should tell people about overnight bag so can prepare better and beforehand. Should tell people that will need to go up and down stairs so if knee problems they can be prepared. When we went to Akihabara, most stores were closed. When in Fuji TV, too late for tour. So try to arrange time to visit when things are open.
All day free in Fukuoka - we walked a big circle to temples and shrines and shopping and restaurant. Post stay 2 extra days in Tokyo to just freely tour all that's there.

It's a very pleasure trip. The guide and driver were very professional and thoughtful. For the major visit sites the visit time need to be longer.
We had a great trip with Japan Deluxe Tours. The itinerary was well planned, the guide was excellent, and the hotels (except one) were extremely good.
Worst tour ever. The guide rushed us everywhere and many were older so hard to keep up with her. She did care when told about the problem. Two of planned days were nothing but sitting around doing nothing with no guide so nine day trip really seven. Osaka arrival at night so no tour at all. Just walk down a street. No guide available first day when told one would be available in the lobby to see some of Tokyo. Couples only got window seats on fast train which was a local train?. I have travelled the world and this was the worst except the for three days I did on my own three days after tour was over. What's your response? I
Every thing was fine. It was a great trip. Anybody I talk to I recomment your company. I loved Japan and be able to see so much of the country. Thank you for creating such a phantastic trip. The tour I went on was called Grand Tour with Takayama Festival which is not listed on your selection of tours.
I was satisfied with most aspects of the tour: food, sightseeing, guide, accommodations, transportation. However, there are a few points that could be improved. In the last part of the tour, when the group was the smallest, we were driven in a new van that did not have a trunk big enough for our luggage. The luggage had to be stored on the seats of the first row, thus nobody could sit in the first row and enjoy the scenery. The visit to the noodle cup museum was boring and a waste of time. A professional dancer came on the bus to show us and to talk about her dance. It is impossible for her to dance on a moving bus thus she could not really show us anything. She should have come during a meal.
Tour was the greatest experience we have had in a long time. Very organized, a lot of pre-tour information to know what to expect. Great value for the money. Nice accomodations. Multiple experiences and very helpful and accomodating.
We loved out Grand Essence of Japan (starting in Osaka) tour in Spring 2015 with you. The timing was perfect and the cherry blossoms could not have been better. Our guides - Hide for the first portion and Seiko for the second - were both very knowledgeable and gracious. Excellent represents of your country. My only suggestions is that you develop some new itineraries. By doing the Grand Essence we have covered quite a bit of the southern part of Japan. We have looked to do a second tour with you, but everything seems to duplicate a large portion of what we have already done. While I know you put together Private tours, group tours are certainly more affordable. Thank you for a wonderful experience (and most excellent cherry blossoms). Gail and Wayne Fujisawa
The first half of the tour was a nice mix of parents with children or grand parents with grand children. We elected to add two days in front of the tour. The Tokyo subway system with bilingual signs and bilingual announcements on the trains made it easy to get around Tokyo.
Transportation, lodging and food were excellent ! Our tour guide was nice. Opportunities for improving the experience: Our tour guide could have been more engaging and provided more information about each of the various cities and venues that we visited and possibly share the detailed information as we walked through the various sites. A couple of the Castle visited, we barely had enough time to enter the castles and had to rush back to the bus. Our tour guide for the Tokyo fish market was excellent, he shared his wealth of knowledge and really made a connection with our group.
Having not traveled overseas by myself before, I was quite nervous about going on this tour (14 day anime tour). However, all my nerves disappeared as soon as I landed in Narita and was met by a wonderful JPT guide. The tour far exceeded my expectations from then on! The tour group was small enough that it was easy to get involved in the activities but large enough so that you weren't talking to the same people the whole time. I was interested in all the places we went to and especially loved the extra tour to the animation school and staying in a traditional Japanese ryokan. I was especially impressed by all the guides I had on tour (Chiko, Hide and ). They were all very knowledgeable, friendly and patient. The tour was very well organised so I knew exactly where to meet up with the group and what times. The only minor downside was that there was soooooo much packed into the tour that I would have liked to have spent more time in some places - but I got to see so much of Japan in such a short time and I have been inspired to plan another trip very soon with some of the friends that I met on tour! I have recommended JPT to all my friends back home and I would happily join another JPT tour in the future.
