Anime Pioneer Adventure - Japan Golden Route Tour with Anime
There's something for everyone on this tour. Four of the days are filled with traditional Japan culture and sights--a wonderful overview of temples and shrines, kimonos and tea ceremonies, traveling japan's rail and subway systems, views of the city skyline, etc. Many tours offer this, and Japan Deluxe Tour does this very well. But the reason we chose this particular tour was for the two days of Anime and Manga sights, and that is where our tour veered into the sublime for fans of J-pop culture. The kids, teens and tweens in our group were in heaven, which is what every parent wants on a family vacation, isn't it? I would do this tour again, and recommend it for the young, the young at heart, families, and definitely fans of anime and manga

Grand Takayama Spring Festival Tour - Journey through Sea of Japan Side
We hoped to see the cherry blossoms, but unfortunately, they bloomed early last year. It also rained so the Takayama festival was cancelled. However, those were beyond our control and in spite of that we had a wonderful experience. One of our guides, Chiko, was extremely knowledgeable and informative. Office staff was also helpful with booking our tour. We would like to return to Japan again in the near future.

I took one of the 7 day anime-themed tours and did not regret a single cent (or yen!) I spent on it - and that's a very rare thing for me to say. A few minor annoyances, such as not getting to spend as long as I would have liked at a few sites, were well more than outweighed by the hotel selections, included meals, and interesting diversity of the sites we visited, and kudos for including transportation to and from the airports. Both tour guides we had (one for the first five days and the other for the last two) were very knowledgeable and accommodating, sometimes even going the extra mile to help guests arrange side trips or unscheduled activities during downtime. Would not hesitate to recommend the package to other anime enthusiasts interested in visiting Japan.

We felt rushed. We were at a different hotel each night. It would have been nice to spend at least 2 days at each hotel. There were sites (like the museum in Tokyo) that we would have liked to spend more time (instead of the 2 hours we were given). Our tour guide did not explain much of the history of the country during our bus trip. This is comparing tour guides from other companies (i.e. Tauck).

Tour was pretty much as we expected. Sites covered with plenty of time per visit. Cherry blossoms were magnificent. Accomodation very good. Meals generally excellent to supurb (with one exception). Due to illness we had three different guides of varying quality which gave us to recognise how good out first guide was. By the nature of the tour travelling distance each day were fairly long and here we had our only "downer". The bus (I hesitate to call it a coach) was, from our experience, inadequate. It was little more than a commuter bus with hard seats and inadequate legroom which made the long travelling days somewhat uncomfortable. When I raised this with JDT immediately after the tour I was informed that "it was a standard Japanese tour coach" and the company considered it adequate. In our view it was certainly NOT Deluxe transport. Weather ws not kind for first three days but I do not hold JDT responsible for that. J&HS

Japan Cherry Blossom Tour - Essence of Spring (from Tokyo to Osaka)
Our family of 4 took the Takayama Festival Tour in April 2015. From the time i connected with Japan Deluxe Tour, the travel agent Yuki made it so easy to book. She answered all my questions and anyone who happens to answer the phone when i called always seem enthusiastic to help whenever you call them.
The tour was wonderful. The places we visited were all beautiful and each one offerred a unique experience, despite the constant rain that cancelled the Takayama Festival parade itself. The hotels were pretty good except for maybe the one where we were booked near the airport when we arrived the first day.
Our tour guide, Tachiko Tanaka was charming. She was very informative. She even gave us back some money when she found out that an activity that was offerred originally and was on our brochure (tea ceremony) was deleted. She left the money under the hotel door with a sweet note of apology. She did not have to do that as it wasn't her fault but her recovery service gesture was very professional and appreciated. it was a pleasant surprise.
Yes- i would recommend Japan Deluxe Tour to anyone and we will use them again if we decide to revisit Japan in the future.

Meet Wild Snow Monkey - Winter Japan Tour

I didn't get to see Shibuya on the free day. I wish that was included on one of the other days. The anime convention offers a free tour to foreign tourists but it started at 12 and didn't end until after the meeting time to return with the guides to see the Gundam. We were more worried about not finding our way back to the hotel on our own than missing the Gundam and had to leave the tour of the convention early. It would be nice to have communication between the Japan Deluxe Tour and Anime tour guides and set up an optional tour and extend the meeting time to go back to the gundam to accommodation for those taking the tour of the convention. I have been on many tours before and this was the first time that I had to switch groups of people and guides. You just get to know and bond with someone then either you or they are switched to another bus. Clicks are already formed towards the end of a tour so it makes it difficult to find a place to fit in.

This was my first international trip by myself so I was quite nervous but this tour has given me the confidence to travel more as the tour was so well organised. There were a lot of activities packed into the tour, although there were some places I wanted more time in, this was an excellent tour to see a lot of Japan and plan where I want to spend my home in future trips to Japan. The guide we had was amazing - so knowledgeable, approachable, fun, and the group got on really well because of this. I liked the fact that we got to experience a lot of the Japanese culture (food, onsen futon) and it was not too "westernized" because I didn't come to Japan to eat hamburgers that I can eat in my own country.

I am not a big fan of tour groups, buffets, or anime other than Ghibli, but I enjoyed the tour very much. I could never had arranged all this by myself! Also, thank you for late shuttle " Green Tomato" and for including trip insurance. You should include the Anime mall beside the Rihga Royal. I walked through and it looked pretty interesting even to me. Also try to visit a temple when the lanterns are lit in early evening. It is magical.

Want to Visit again/next time: Watching traditional Tea Ceremony & experiencing the wearing of a Kimono traditional style. *Seeing more of Mt. Fuji. Pretour events need to have an extra notification night before departure, especially with the additional costs involved! Same as optional extra/early start ie. Tuskiji Fish Market. I sought a tour to Japan with two things in mind: Anime and Cherry Blossoms. Though there was ample time dedicated to the cherry blossom sites, there was barely any time given to the anime shopping districts. Suggestions for future tours: Anime fair optional, provide information about fair focusing on promotion of Anime series, not products. J-World optional, as it focuses on children, add information. Pokemon Centre & K-books provide good supplies for Anime in same area. Adding information that includes Anime stores in each location would also be helpful ie Rhiga Royal Hotel (Day 10) has a large anime store across bridge walk way that closes at 1900- missed if you drop luggage off in room on arrival.
