Asakusa's Very Own Hello Kitty Gift Store!
Opening just in time for the 2019 Spring Cherry Blossom season, Hello Kitty giant Sanrio is set to open a brand new gift store in the historic Asakusa shopping district! Sporting an apple motif on the first and a massive two-story Hello Kitty design, the new Asakusa Sanrio Gift Gate is meant to please both domestic and foreign travelers alike with an unforgettable Hello Kitty & Sanrio experience. Enjoy a handful of limited character goods and exclusive products for the store, including Cinamoroll, Gudetama, My Melody and other Sanrio favorites. Hello Kitty will run the entire first floor with a special apple
theme (Apple Pie's are Kitty's favorite snack after all).
In addition to limited-edition merchandise, the Kitty Store's opening will also be marked with an appearance by Hello Kitty in a decadent Kimono and special edition Hello Kitty Rickshaws. Given that Asakusa is a popular rickshaw and traditional destination for travelers, it makes sense to include a Hello Kitty Rickshaw. With so much hype surrounding Hello Kitty in recent years (including various collaborations and even a permanent cafe in Irvine), it's no shock Hello Kitty is making her way to one of Tokyo's most historic districts.
