All the hotels were excellent and the food was incredible during our Japan tour. Got back to hotels too late. By the time we ate dinner, the stores and shops were closed. Felt "rushed" everyday with many different sites to see on the Japan tour itinerary. A new hotel every day is just too much. Should get back to hotel by 4-5 pm so we can relax and unwind before dinner.
All hotels were excellent, especially in the hotels with traditional Japanese beds. All hotel staff were extremely polite.
All meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner were delicious. Variety of meals encompassed all different Japanese dishes.
Our guide asked that if we had any questions and need to let her know at the beginning of the tour so that she could find the information we needed. I asked her about my Japanese Family crest and if she knew where I might be able to find it or if she could give me somewhere where I would get information. The guide never followed up on my request and 10 days later I guess she just forgot. A "excellent" guide would have at least acknowledged my question.
Site visits were good, however, too many site visits in one day. Need to concentrate on more major attractions and skip others like Gov. Building and pirate boat in Hakone. Not enough free time for shopping, spent too little time in places. We wanted more time like in beautiful gardens. Time management for various sites could been better managed.
