Enjoyed Anime & Temples in Tokyo

The beginning of the tour was quite confusing. We had problems from the start at the airport, though I think that was on Green Tomato's (our shuttle services) end. Then our itinerary was different on the first day from our provided handbook, and our tour-mates seemed to fluctuate day-to-day as apparently there were two tours occurring simultaneously with members at two different hotels. It really came together on our third day (March 25th) when Hiro-san provided us with a newsletter with each day's itinerary. I was very happy with the variety of sights we saw on the tour - I only wish we could have had more time at some of the locations! I personally would have been willing to start a little earlier to give more time in the day. The option for the tour of Shibuya and the Gundam was definitely worth it, and the hot spring experience is not to be missed!

Best place visited in this tour: Tokyo Character Street, Ghibli Museum, Sensoji Temple

Best experience had in Japan: Shopping for character goods in Tokyo, the hot springs, and praying at a Shinto Shrine

Any place went to visit next time: Some of the other cultural sites, like Meiji-Jingu Shrine, Kiyomizu Temple, or Nijo Castle

1. How would you rate the accommodations? (Comfort, cleanliness, location)

Very Good

All hotels were clean, had good breakfast buffets, and helpful staff. Definitely most impressed by Grand Prince Hotel Kyoto - Great place to end!

2. What did you think about the food? (Taste, variety)

Very Good

The meals provided were very good. My favorite was Chiriri in Kyoto where we got traditional sushi and also delicious tempura.

3. Was the tour guide helpful? (Knowledge, communication, attitude)

Excellent

Hiro-san and our driver Kenji-san were both a delight to travel with! Hiro-san filled our walks + bus rides with information about passing sights, history of the area, and personal stories. Her daily itineraries were a great help laying out travel times and even expected weather!

4. How would you rate the sightseeing spots we have visited? (Favorite place, least favorite)

Very Good

We got to see a great variety of sights that showed many aspects of Japanese culture. I enjoyed all of the shrines and temples for their beauty and history. From an anime standpoint, the Ghibli Museum, Pokemon Center in Tokyo, Tokyo Character Street, and Harajuku Kiddyland were all I hoped for and more!
