Best place visited in this tour: Kyoto Shishu Restoration Studio – being able to observe close-up the works. Aizen kobo – the opportunity to meet Ken-ichi Utsuki & see his work.
Best experience had in Japan: The farewell dinner with the maiko. The opportunity to find so many unique fabrics I wouldn’t be able to get at home.
Any place went to visit next time: Almost everything we went on this tour – it was great!
Although a few stops were limited in the amount of time allowed, I wouldn’t want to subtract anything from the tour, to accommodate more time somewhere else. Considering distances, traffic, etc. I think the itinerary we had was well thought out and provided a number of once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Thank you, Hiroko!
The farewell dinner with the maiko was wonderful, truly a unique experience. Thank you for arranging for us – and I can say I’ve played a drinking game with maiko! I’ll never forget that.
Touring with quilters is fun!
Excellent
The hotel in Tokyo was so close to the quilt show! The Dome hotel was a pleasure to stay at.
Excellent
We had an excellent variety of meals both for lunches and a couple of memorable dinners.
Excellent
Hiroko did a excellent job of being attentive to everyone’s need was willing to help people find whatever they were looking for. Managing to take 28 people as a group on the Tokyo metro takes a brave person.
Excellent
So many unique places were included in this tour, I didn’t know about previously like the Kyoto Shishu Restoration Studio or would have difficulty getting of on my own, like the Ichiku Kubota Museum.
