A vegetarian diet was loosely understood by most restaurants, I often had to pick meat out from my dish or cook on BBQ where meat was already cooked. English speaking guides were not provided at most sites so after our tour guide dropped us off if there were no boards in the museums translated for us. We were unable to understand. Bus and driver were fantastic during our Japan tour! Thank you Sumi-san!
