A look at MOS Burger’s unique Japanese spin on American fast food

It's easy to find Japanese food in America and American food in Japan, but that doesn't mean that what you're getting will be prepared the exact same way that it is in its native country. Take, for example, Japan's fast food chain MOS Burger. While you may assume that you can walk into an MOS Burger during your Japan vacation and order a classic American meal — a burger, fries and maybe a shake — the menu at this unique eatery is in fact quite different.

According to RocketNews24, an online Asian news outlet, MOS Burger takes the concept of a hamburger and puts a Japanese spin on it. Upon close inspection of the menu, you can see that the "buns" are actually made of tightly packed rice and the "burgers" come in flavors like miso mackerel.

The idea behind MOS Burger's approach is to appeal to different generations of Japanese people.

"Kids and their parents are used to eating fast food, but their grandparents are often less familiar with these sorts of places," Tsuneari Ota of MOS Burger's food and service product development department told the news outlet. "We want to appeal to that older generation by putting effort into our Japanese-style menu items. MOS Burger is a place that embodies every aspect of Japanese flavor, for the good of the whole family."

There are plenty of interesting restaurants to visit when you tour Japan — from the American-inspired fast food chains to traditional Japanese eateries. If you're planning a trip to this eclectic country, consider booking a Japanese travel deal from Japan Deluxe Tour.
