Department Store Basement Shopping
In Japan everybody knows what DEPACHIKA means. DEPA is shorten of DEPArtment Store CHIKA meaning basement it's a coined word stands for basement of department store. What are they selling? Whole bunch of food! It's like a food convention center. Each department store competes each other carrying famous brand food one of a kind stuff imported wines luxury chocolates sweets fresh fruits vegetables bread sushi prepared food you can name it. I recommend to buy bento box. They are fun to look at taste delicious you can never find them at convenience stores. Some bento boxes are made of fine restaurants selected by Michelin. They have many tasting tables for free. There is a rumor some people visit DEPACHIKA to DEPACHIKA for eating those tasting stuff every day.
