Irabu-Ohashi

January 31, 2015, the Irabu Ohashi Bridge connecting Miyako Island and Irabu Island finally opened to vehicle traffic in Okinawa. The 3,540m long Irabu Ohashi Bridge, which is the longest toll-free bridge in Japan, is said to be “Bridge of Dream” because it has been 40 years from the planning stage, and cost a total project cost of 39.5 billion yen and took 9 years from the start of construction till completion. Before that, it needs boat ride to the island, this bridge made it very convenient to visit the island which has very beautiful beach. There are two positions in both directions where you can pull your car off the main lane safely and get out taking pictures. You can even spot turtles when you walk through bridge if you are lucky!
