Sumida River Hanabi Festival

Sumida River Hanabi Festival is a very popular fireworks festival held annually. It's said to have started during the Edo period in 1733. 8th Shogun Yoshimune mourning the victims of the plague and famine, raised the fireworks praying dispel sickness. The first venue is from downstream Sakurabashi to downstream Kototoibashi about 9,500 fireworks will be launched. The second venue is from downstream Komagatabashi to downstream Umayabashi about 10, 500 fireworks will be launched. This year illuminated Tokyo Sky Tree will be perfect matched in the sky.
