Kagawa Angel Road | Sandbar for Couples
Angel Road is a narrow sandbar near Tonosho Port in Shodoshima that connects its three small islands. The sandbar is a popular spot for couples for it is said that any couple who walks on the sandbar holding hands will find happiness. The sandbar though can only be walked twice a day during low tide. Some couples write their wishes for happiness together by writing it on a piece of wood called ema and hanging it on a tree branch of Shodoshima.
