Park in the Heart of Sapporo

Odori Park is located in the center of Sapporo and stretches east to west, dividing the city into northern and southern sections. Odori means large street in Japanese and is fitting for this park that was originally supposed to be a street. Comprised of 13 blocks, there's plenty for families to enjoy on the park grounds including statues, playground equipment, and flower gardens. Although initially founded as a street, the area did not thrive and was eventually converted into a flower garden, and then a larger park. There are many events held at the street in addition to prominent landmarks, including the famous Sapporo TV Tower.
