Okageyokocho, located in front of Ise Jingu Naiku Torii Gate, is a small village reproducing a town during the Edo and Meiji periods. The village has a nostalgic feel and has an abundance of traditional shops. All kinds of Mie's specialty and traditional snacks are sold here including Akafuku, a red bean paste mochi confectionery. Akafuku has been sold at Ise Jingu for over 300 years. The old town of Okageyokocho is sure to take you back in time to the ancient Edo and Meiji periods.
