The Nagata Shrine is a Shinto shrine in Nagata, Kobe that enshrines the deity "Kotoshironushi-no- Ohkami" who is known for flourishing businesses and industries. It is said Empress Jingu was told by the Sun Goddess Amaterasu to build a shrine in Nagata at the beginning of the 3rd century. There are two festivals held at the shrine, a setsubun celebration in February and an autumn matsuri in October. The Setsubun purification ritual is called Tsuina-shiki Shinji which is done to eliminate misfortune and promote home safety. The Autumn Matsuri is a special day meant for celebrating the Shinto God Kotoshironushi. Often called Nagata-san
