Kirishima Open-Air Museum is an open air museum in Kirishima city of Kagoshima Prefecture. The museum makes use of Kirishima's location of 2,300 ft above sea level and the spacious land on the mountain range. Secluded from the busy town, its location gives its visitors a quiet space to appreciate art. The museum is known for its open air area but also consists of an art hall which exhibits a large collection of works by both Japanese and international artists. The unique placement of sculptures mixed with the natural elements of Kagoshima Prefecture's scenery result in a breathtaking balance of art and nature.
