Elevated Wooden Path

The Shiretoko Goko area is a set of five small lakes surrounded by nature and mountains in Shiretoko. Formed after Mt. Io erupted, the lakes are said to resemble god's five fingerprints and are surrounded by mountains and wild-life. Guests of the area can enjoy walking along the elevated boardwalk path built from the parking lot to the first lake. There are multiple observatory points along the path to enjoy the panoramic views of the first lake and Shiretoko mountain range. There are also paths guests can take on foot for a fee, but also requires guests to join a safety briefing before hand in the event of a bear sighting. However, from the elevated platform, travelers can still see animals in their natural habitat while enjoying Shiretoko's scenic beauty. Join us as we walk through this path in Hokkaido with a custom Japan Tour Package through the beautiful northern island.
