Replacing the previous Gundam Front in Odaiba is the new Gundam Base Tokyo. Opening it's doors in 2017, this must-see attraction for Gundam fans is home to the world famous 1 for 1 scale of the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam. Replacing the previously standing 59 ft RX-78-2 Gundam, the new RX-0 Unicorn Gundam stands at 71.2 feet in Destroyer Mode. Better yet, the new Unicorn Gundam model entertains guests with flashing lights, movements and sounds depending on the time of day. Although guests won't be able to pilot the Gundam, but that shouldn't stop you from taking photos and videos of the awesome performance.
The Gundam base is also home to several other attractions besides the life-size battle suit. There currently is an Event Zone reserved for special attractions, Shop Zone offering over 2,000 Gunpla products, the Builders Room where guests can build their Gunpla Kits, the Gunpla Tokyo Gallery filled with every Gunpla manufactured since the 80's, Gunpla Factory Museum, STRICT-G Gundam apparel & clothing store, the Gundam Café serving Gundam-themed food and drinks, and the Gundam Trailer Shop (mobile store next to the Unicorn Gundam). Each area offers a unique look at the history of Gundam, from the first kits ever made to the latest fashions inspired by the hit franchise.
