Mix Between Italian meat sauce and Japanese Yakisoba

Italian yakisoba is a special variant of the popular yakisoba dish in Niigata. Yakisoba is a local dish in Japan that literally means fried noodles, and is made with meats, vegetables, bonito flakes, seaweed, and a thick, sweetish sauce (okonomiyaki sauce). The dish came to be when an Italian owner of a Japanese restaurant visited Japan. While there, he came up with the idea to combined Italian-style meat sauce with Japanese Yakisoba to create a new flavor. Italian Yakisoba has been enjoyed in Niigata since 1959 and can be found in many restaurants in the prefecture. We recommend visiting MIKAZUKI in Niigata if you want to try this dish, or you can have us take care of arranging it all with our custom Japan tour packages. Our custom Japan tours are the perfect way to see only what you want, all with the comfort of a guide by your side.
